Michael L. Reist, The Amazing Magi, www.theamazingmagi.com, has been interested in magic for most of his life. As a teenager he performed at birthday parties, nursing homes, scouting events, hospitals, etc. Now he does many types of shows including for Schools, Churches, Civic group, birthday parties and much, much more performing all over Pennsylvania and surrounding states as well as on Cruise Ships such as the Oasis of the Seas. He is one of PA's busiest magicians and brings his mind blowing illusions, mystifying magic, sleight-of-hand, puppets, balloon animals and much, much more to guarantee a wonderful entertainment experience.
He has spent most of his professional adult life working with children and youth of all ages. He was a teacher for many years, teaching Social Studies at both the Jr. and Sr. HS levels as well as teaching at Reading Area Community College. He was also the Executive Director of Northwest Neighborhood Ministries, an after-school program for children in Reading and later the Youth Director of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Birdsboro.
In 2004 he was ordained a Lutheran pastor, serving over 3 years as pastor of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church in New Jerusalem, PA. After, that he became pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church in Stony Creek Mills, serving over 6 years. He is currently the pastor of Good Shepherd Luther Church in Easton, PA and will at times if requested perform at churches using his magic and sleight-of-hand to illustrate the Gospel. He firmly believes that God wants all of us to experience a little magic in our lives so whether he is presenting a "religious" show or a simple comedy or children’s show, he believes that magic can speak to all of us, regardless of our race, color, creed or religion.
